Clinical Case

As easy as MB1,2,3…A Case Series.Part II

As I mentioned in Part I, the relationship of the canals in the mesiobuccal root of the maxillary molar is intimate. However, determining the exact nature is not always possible, even with the best diagnostic images.

The following case is a subtype in which you have two canals in a single mesiobuccal root. Each canal could accept cone fit simultaneously, however, both canals drained when either was evacuated with a micro-suction.

Diagnosis Tooth #3: Necrotic pulp, Symptomatic apical periodontitis

This case was treated in a single visit, and the patient did very well both peri- and postoperatively. In this particular case, the second mesiobuccal canal was found in a very palatal position, much more so than I routinely see.

Every tooth is unique.
